Why a funeral plan is important to have
How much do you think a funeral costs? It couldn’t be that much really? You already have a life cover policy so why do you need a funeral plan? If you don’t have a funeral plan and you pass away, nothing else will happen, right? Completely wrong!
Most people overlook and sometimes underestimate the costs involved when either they pass away or when one of their dependants dies.
Often it is less about being ignorant or naïve and more a case of believing innocently that one is covered when one is not, or being covered by a life insurance policy that takes just a bit longer to pay out than you might think. This process doesn’t take an inordinate amount of time but it could be too much for whoever is responsible to make arrangements immediately if someone passes away.
Why funeral plans are crucial
Funeral plans are mostly important if you do not want any of your loved ones or dependants to be out of money when you pass away and your life insurance and pension pays out. It is really important to have funeral plans in order for those that are dependant on you and the ones that you love.
What does a funeral plan provide?
Funeral plans provide “instant” cash when the insured passes away. This cash can be used to pay for the casket or coffin, the undertaker, the tomb stone/grave, cremation, for the funeral service, wake or reception, and to cover the living expenses while the decease d’s dependants wait for pension or life cover monies to come through.
Bereavement is sad enough without being destitute on top of everything else – something your loved ones and yourself do not have to worry about if you and they have sufficient funeral cover that will pay out quickly – within 24 hours of a claim, at most.
